Frequently Asked Question: I have mold in my home and my landlord isn’t fixing it. What can I do?
Answer: You have rights. Your landlord must make repairs and do whatever is necessary to put and keep the rental in a fit and habitable condition. If your landlord does not make necessary repairs, you have options. You may be able to move out, or sue the landlord.
These are the steps you can take:
1. Communicate with your landlord about the needed repairs
2. Give the landlord a written request (we have a free form you can use)
3. Give your landlord time (3 –14 days) to make repairs
