We’ve put together some helpful resources we think all low to moderate-income Montanans should know about.
- Earned Income Tax Credit – This credit can give workers and families a tax break. Be sure to check if you qualify when preparing your tax return.
- Elderly Homeowner Tax Credit – Montana homeowners and renters aged 62 or older may qualify for this credit, even if you do not have to file a tax return.
- Free File Alliance – This nonprofit helps Montanans e-file tax returns for free if they qualify.
- VITA and TCE Programs – The IRS offers free tax help through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs. These programs assist with basic tax return preparation for those who qualify.
